wag your tail, it's wednesday

snowflakes land
upon his back
soft
and white
on darkest black

he doesn't
notice
nor does he care
if they
look pretty
resting there

but i see
fairies
on his hair
for i see
beauty
everywhere

wag your tail, it's wednesday (poor stella)

there's a blizzard outside,
it's snowing and blowing,
the snowplows and blowers,
are going, and going.

oh please may i stay,
inside where it's warm,
i might blow away,
in such a bad storm!

the fluffiest snow i ever saw

how do you capture fluffy,
when you photograph the snow?
i wish someone could tell me,
because i do not know.
today would have been perfect,
but i didn't have a clue.
so i just marveled at it's lightness,
as i kicked it with my shoe.
i commented to my neighbor,
who was out to get his mail,
he didn't seem quite as impressed,
by this minute detail.
but i was quite delighted,
at it's texture and it's hue,
though i didn't take a picture,
i think this poem will do.

first snow , oh no!

i'm not ready for winter,
i don't want fall to go,
if you say that i'm dreaming,
i won't have to know,

that my pumpkin is wearing,
a new coat of white,
it happened while sleeping,
sometime late last night,

so it must be a dream,
say it's not true,
say that stuff on the ground,
is really just dew,

oh please come back fall,
i want you to stay,
don't let this small snow,
chase you away,

i'm sure it will melt,
and you'll be back quick as ever,
so don't disappear,
just because of bad weather.
