as we walked on

i got so tired 

that i was glad 

when momma came along

she carried me

the hike to not prolong

after a break

i walked some more

i once again felt strong

we were back

and i was glad

not to be dog gone

The Cool Down

Gulf Breeze Zoo

Yesterday I went to the zoo with my sister Melissa and her husband Doug.  It was a great day and of course the baby gorilla was top attraction.  You should have heard the tigers fighting! 

Hero

Doug Middleton is my new hero.  While we were at the Gulf Breeze Zoo yesterday he noticed a parakeet stuck with a thread from a rope around his neck.  We notified the closest Zoo worker who, with Doug's pocket knife and help freed him.  She took him to be checked out and returned him a short while later.

to start the drive back

Life in Florida stinks for me . Literally.  Something has my digestive track out of whack.  I am spending a lot of time in the bathroom. Really, that's where they are putting me when they (Becky & Mom) go out and have fun.

 Do you know how bananas grow? These are growing in Becky's yard.  She has two kinds. The dark ones are called Jamaican red.

We are havin' fun on our road trip.  So far we have visited with friends in Omaha, NE, Leavenworth, KS, Tampa, FL and now we are in Naples, FL.  We also spent a week in Gulf Breeze where Grandpa Neil lived.  Mom was helping Auntie Bridget and Nathaniel work on the house. I only got paint on myself twice. I have been a pretty good traveler and mom says she's glad to have some company while she is driving.  Here are some pictures of our trip so far. Here is a picture of me with Marylou on our way to Omaha. The other picture is of me with Mickey one of their two Kerry Blue Terriers. Mickey was my favorite. She's older than me.
